How to: Name a formula.
Solution:
Copy the formula from the 'Formula Bar' and paste it into the 'Refers to' box of the 'Define Name' dialog box. Type a name for the formula in the 'Names in Workbook' box.
1) Type the desired formula in a cell.
2) Copy the formula from the 'Formula Bar'.
a) Select the formula in the 'Formula Bar'. (The formula is highlighted.)

b) Select the 'Edit' menu and select 'Copy'.
3) Press ESC.
4) Select the 'Insert' menu and select 'Name'. (A submenu appears.)
5) Select 'Define...' from the submenu. (The Define Name dialog box appears.)
6) Type a name for the formula in the 'Names in Workbook' box.

NOTE: No spaces are allowed in the name. Names can contain up to 255 characters.
7) Paste the formula into the 'Refers to' box:

a) Position the insertion point in the 'Refers to' box.
b) Delete any text in the box.
c) Select the 'Edit' menu and select 'Paste'.
8) Click 'OK'.
